In 2024, the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce thoroughly reviewed English language arts core curriculum and instructional materials aligned with the science of reading and effective literacy instruction strategies. Reading Horizons is included on Ohio’s Core Foundational Skills list for grades K–2, providing comprehensive foundational skills instruction aligned with standards and strategies for effective literacy instruction.
All Green on EdReports
The EdReports educator-led curriculum review process for supplemental materials includes two gateways that reflect the importance of standards alignment, research-based best practices, and other attributes of high-quality curriculum as recommended by educators. Reading Horizons Discovery earned ‘all green,’ indicating the curriculum meets all evaluation criteria.
