SIMPLIFYING THE SCIENCE OF READING
Literacy Solutions for all Indiana Learners
Reading Horizons was the missing piece for effective MTSS (Tier 2) and Special Education (Tier 3) instruction.”

Aligned to Indiana English Language Arts Standards
The Indiana Academic Standards for English Language Arts result from a process designed to identify, evaluate, synthesize, and create the highest quality, rigorous standards for Indiana students. The standards ensure that all Indiana students, upon graduation, are prepared for both college and career opportunities. In alignment with Indiana’s Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) plan, the academic standards reflect the core belief that all students can achieve at a high level. The four key areas for foundational reading include Print Concepts, Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Fluency. Reading Horizons aligns with these foundational standards, ensuring every Indiana student can thrive.
All Green on EdReports
The EdReports educator-led curriculum review process for supplemental materials includes two gateways that reflect the importance of standards alignment, research-based best practices, and other attributes of high-quality curriculum as recommended by educators. Reading Horizons Discovery earned ‘all green,’ indicating the curriculum meets all evaluation criteria.
