Last update: July 2024

Commitment to Accessibility

Emblazoned on the boardroom wall at Reading Horizons are the words, “We respect the inherent dignity and worth of every individual.” We work hard to implement this principle, viewing respect as a crucial tenet of a productive and inclusive culture for our employees, customers, and users.

With this aim in mind, Reading Horizons strives to create digital offerings accessible to all people.

Developing New and Updating Existing Content

New and updated content produced by Reading Horizons will be created with sensitivity to accessibility barriers and based on internal standards recognized as best practices for accessibility.

Digital content will follow WCAG 2.2, Level AA standards.¹

Updates to Existing Digital Assets

Web content and other digital assets created by Reading Horizons will be continually reviewed against WCAG 2.2, Level AA standards and updated as defects are found internally or reported by users.

¹ We strive to ensure that administrative software is always accessible by screen readers, contains closed captioning, and can be navigated with a keyboard. We will also implement these features in student software, except where it would result in a fundamental alteration of the product’s nature. For example, we would not include closed captioning on activities that ask your students to spell a word, as it would not accurately assess whether they have learned the information.
