OUR METHOD CHANGES LIVES
Reading Success Isn’t a
Mystery. It’s a Method.See how our step-by-step method transforms educators into experts and students into readers.
How it Works
Students struggle with reading when the process feels like a mystery. Reading Horizons changes that by giving educators an evidence-based method to teach reading with clarity, confidence, and consistency.

Simple to Complex Sequence

Streamlined Marking System

Systematic Phonics and Decoding Instruction

Daily Scaffolded Practice
Our streamlined marking system makes learning the patterns of the English language simple.
Letter Sound Correspondence
First, students learn the 44 sounds of the English language and the letters that represent those sounds.

Consonant Combinations
Next, students learn to identify consonant combinations, such as digraphs and blends, to read and spell more words accurately.

Vowels
Then, students learn the key patterns that determine the pronunciation of the vowel within a word, including long and short vowels, R-controlled vowels, and vowel diphthongs (e.g., oo, oi).

Syllabication
Finally, students learn two simple skills to divide words of any length to accurately decode longer words.

Apply Skills to Reading Practice
Using these skills, students can recognize, decode, and read words of any length in connected text.
