Aligned with North Carolina’s Excellent Public Schools Act—Read to Achieve SB387
The Excellent Public Schools Act—Read to Achieve bill requires schools to align literacy instruction to the science of reading, defined as “evidence-based reading instruction practices that address the acquisition of language, phonological and phonemic awareness, phonics and spelling, fluency, vocabulary, oral language, and comprehension that can be differentiated to meet the needs of individual students.” With Reading Horizons, North Carolina schools will always be aligned with the latest research in reading science.
