For the last few years Reading Horizons has partnered with Rising Star Outreach to provide effective English instruction for the children of leprosy victims in Sourthern India.
Rising Star is a non-profit charity dedicated to the eradication of leprosy and its resulting stigma. Through the organization, volunteers help those with leprosy and their children on the following three fronts:
- Economic rehabilitation through micro-grants.
- Medical care through mobile medical clinics.
- Educating children to become productive citizens.

Most of us will not get the opportunity to travel the world to teach children to read but we can all do something. Read to a child today, volunteer at a school, or make a donation to your local school library.
